The purpose of this page is to show you the live charts displaying performance of all the hosts I monitor in one place. Also on this page I put together historical data on the hosting performance.

These hosts participate in Monthly Hosting Performance Contests. Each month I put together performance rating of the hosts according to the performance monitoring methodology.

Continuous monitoring like that is very important because otherwise it’s hard to find out how your hosting really performs. While you may notice some issues when visiting your website, you can’t do it every minute all days and night long. And this is what can be done by the automatic performance monitoring that I run using a professional web application monitoring service monitis.com (until January 2021) and pingdom.com (since January 2021).

By the way, the best hosting I’ve ever met during my researches and managing websites (I’ve been using more than one hundred hosts) are on my recommended hosting list.

I determine the best hosts by a number of factors among them performance (reliability, uptime, speed) is just a part of it. Very important factors are also customer support, ethics of hosting companies, their reputation among their current and former clients and professional hosting community.

Hosting speed history tables (monthly average)

Hosting speed is measured as full page load time of my test websites hosted with these hosts. The speed tests are performed every 20 minutes from two US locations (from one US location every 30 minutes since January 2021). For more on the methodology of the testing see this page.

(The less value, the better. Very fast host is below 2.5 seconds)
(The greener, the better. Yellow is below the highest standards. Orange is worse. Red is the worst.)
